This
is what we call the process of removing the cork from the tree, when
the expert hands of our operators, relying on over 2,000 years of
experience, remove the precious raw material by making precise
lengthwise cuts along the tree's bark.
At Imperial Cork we perform the stripping process every nine years,
which is the time it takes for the cork to adequately reproduce.
Painstaking care of the tree and its surroundings make cork
production an important activity for maintaining the health and
well-being of our forests.
